In addition, the Netherlands has some important national holidays, which are also certainly part of our culture. These are the following holidays:

Mother’s and Father’s Day is also a day which is celebrated in the Netherlands, and “Carnaval” which is celebrated in the south of the country. This is an annual party where everyone dresses up for a few days, with live music, parades, and marching bands. Also, typical Dutch is our eating habits, the food we eat every day is an important part of Dutch culture. In the Netherlands, we usually eat bread for lunch and a warm meal in the evening. Dishes that can be called typically Dutch are kale, endive, sauerkraut and hotspot, and of course bitterballen!
